Amazing Dog!!!

My precious friend Meredith has a blog (I am her #1 fan) called Um...Seriously? One of her favorite lines ever and her posts are my favorite because they are all about Fort Worth and my friends!!!

She has a precious dog named Lacey and sometimes posts great dog-related posts. This video she posted is amazing...I am going to work on these tricks with Lillabelle although she is pretty spoiled and not really into "working". Sounds like me...haha. Enjoy!

Bangle Bracelets

As promised, I am writing a post about one of my FAVORITE accessories - the bangle bracelet!!! They are so versatile and they make great noises when they bang together or bang on surfaces (hahaha...bang bang!). I always wear them on my left hand if I am going to be doing anything productive because I am right-handed and absolutely cannot write or function for that matter if they are on my writing hand. However, on my left hand I am all about stacking them up. As long as you can still use your arm you can never have too many!

My favorite place to buy bangles is flea markets. However, H & M, ebay, etsy, street vendors, Claire's, and other junky jewelry stores are great resources as well. I do not hesitate to buy bangles cheap because in reality they really do not remain in one place on your skin for long so they are not likely to cause irritation. I am actually allergic to all metals except for platinum which means I do not get to play dress up with jewelry unless it is big and loose - i.e. bangles or necklaces so I have to have fun where I can.

So, without further ado I have gather some fantastical bangle bracelets from across the web. Feel free to purchase any or all of these and send my way :)

GIMME GIMME!

There are SO MANY inexpensive bangles on ebay and etsy - definitely check it out if you are interested. I hope you enjoyed looking at all of these bangles as much as I did looking for them! Do you have any interesting bangles or have you had any exciting bangle finds?

A Few of My Favorite Things

I know my list of favorite things is not quite as interesting as Oprah's...and no I cannot give you all one of each of these, and a new car, AND a trip to Australia with John Travolta. But I promise that as soon as my blog makes me a billionaire - I will be happy to!

Here is a list of some of my favorite things at the moment...

1. Scrunchies. Yep, I love them. I know they are out of fashion and yes everyone makes fun of me for wearing them but I do it! Especially in bright obnoxious colors.
2. Faux Ray Bans. One of my favorite things about New York is that you can buy any type of sunglasses from street vendors for $5. I have at least 10 pairs in all of the neon colors, polka dot, mirrored, striped, etc. You can never have too many...
3. DVR. Cannot live without it.

4. Fishs Eddy American Glassware.
5. Bangle Bracelets, you can never have too many (photo of my Bangle Bowl below).

A devoted post to follow!!!
6. YSL's Touche Eclat Concealer. I hardly ever wear make up but when I do this is my absolute favorite "tool". I bought this for the first time in Australia at the age of 15 and have not used another concealer since. Apparently they now also make it for men! As I was searching for a photo I found the below...I couldn't resist posting it!
7. Peanut Butter. Probably my favorite food and can be eaten at any time of the day! I am pretty open minded when it comes to brands - I also have a soft spot for make-it-yourself Almond Butter from Whole Foods.
8. 100W Lightbulbs. I know they are not the best for the environment but bright lightbulbs make any room look so much better!
9. My Apple products. IPhone, MacBook Pro 13 (personal), MacBook Pro 15 (work) and of course my fantastic Kate Spade laptop sleeve that Mark bought be as a present for my new job. So sweet (and with great taste too!)
10. Cashmere...Scarves. Sweaters. Socks. Gloves. Blankets. Hats. I wear some sort of every single day - such an indulgence but makes life in the cold weather totally bearable.
What are some of your favorite things?

American Art: Fun Fact

Hi! So I need to improve my ability to write brief posts! Everything I am working on at the moment is a mile long - I am a researcher at heart so I do not want to "publish" anything that is not thorough...not the point of a blog!

So, a fun little American Art fact that will be fantastic cocktail party material :)

Did you know that this photo titled A Very Young Baby, N.Y.C. 1968 by famed and (arguably) tragic photographer Diane Arbus...

Is actually a portrait of this guy?!!??

(Anderson Cooper Adult Photo Source)

Yep, hottie Anderson Cooper was the subject of a 1968 shoot by Diane Arbus for a Harper's Bazaar spread. When Anderson's mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, saw the photo she refused to allow Harper's to publish it! (This is the same mother of Anderson Cooper who took him with her to Studio 54 when he was just a child...) It has now become one of Arbus' most noted works.

Sidenote: I have spent time speaking with Anderson Cooper in person in a professional setting (no, he is not my secret boyfriend - sigh) and his eyes are like magnets. His nickname of the Silver Fox is perfectly suited for him! He is extremely handsome in person and is definitely one of those guys that will be a total hottie in his older years. When I interacted with him, he was with his "friend" Ben Maisani.
